Japanese Dude Marries Virtual Girlfriend

After seeing articles like this on TheFrisky, I always realize how ordinary and average my life is. I don’t even have a virtual boyfriend, duh! Turns out this dude had LOTS of virtual girlfriends before, but he’s finally found his true love and will stay faithful to her forever. The virtual gf’s brother gave a toast, and the virtual crowd applauded. So did the non-virtual. I even saw a girl on this video crying out of joy.

First-ever marriage between man and videogame character in Japan: Nintendo DS “Love Plus”

The ceremony was touching. This Japanese guy had his Nintendo with him, a real priest took care of everything, and it was really simply beautiful. The event was held at at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and the wedding was broadcasted on the internet. It just makes me wonder, how did he put on the ring on his gf’s finger? Will they go on a honeymoon? What about the kids? Will they be virtual, as well?

Okay, now. Am I being the idiot here? This could be the new trend, after all. So, ladies and gentlemen, break up with your love, and start searching for a virtual one, NOW. People with flesh are out of the “love-interest” category, keep that in mind.

P.S. There’s even an interview with his happy fellow here. It’s worth a read. Really. The line “Now that the ceremony is over, I feel like I’ve been able to achieve a major milestone in my life” made me laugh out loudly. He is so right there.

Tagged!

Apparently, I got tagged by Kari, and since I’m a lazy jerk who is failing blogging, it could be a good opportunity for a comeback. So, here I go!

Five Nerdy Facts About You

  1. I played WoW for one whole year. Luckily, that time is over and I officialy have a life!
  2. I can beat anyone at Unreal Tournaments. While you gals where playing with barbies, I was on the computer! (Nah, I played with my barbie, too. Sometimes.)
  3. I met my first boyfriend’s brother on the internet. You can guess what happened next.
  4. I haven’t even failed one module in my ECDL exam.
  5. I want to get into (multi-disciplinary) printmaking. I’m thinking about UWE, but point is, I need to improve a lot to be able to show up a good portfolio. For this very reason, I’m taking professional art classes starting from December. Profassional means it’s expensive and far from my home (about 1 hour via public transport). Classes will start at 5 p.m. and end at 9. After that, I’ll get home by 10, probably, and do my HW and learning. Oh dear?

Five Things You Wouldn’t Want People To Know

  1. I bite my nails. It’s gross, but I can’t help it.
  2. I don’t really like my country. The politics pisses me off and people are way too narrow-minded here.
  3. Twilight is not really a big deal, but I still feel an urge to read the remaining 2 books. (I’m done with 2, already.)
  4. I’ve had a crush on a guy for almost 2 years now, but I’m afraid to take the next step. Lame, yes?
  5. I like to be alone. No, I love to be alone. It just feels nice. (Not at school, though.)

Five Random Facts

  1. Although I want to go into arts (and the like >>), I don’t feel talented enough, knowing that there are so many amazing people out there.
  2. I’m learning English, German and Japanese besides Hungarian. Also, I’m taking my level 4 (basic) language exam in JPLT next autumn, and probably C2 in English. Root for me! ;)
  3. I’m a pretty creative person: I sew, draw, paint, write, cut videos, and the list goes on.
  4. One of my favourite animals is the blue-footed booby. Nothing beats that birdie.
  5. While this took Kari half an hour to write, I needed two days, because I didn’t have an idea what to come up with! (I didn’t want to write boring things, hopefully, it turned out entertaining enough.)
